Programs
 
     The main library in Oakland and many of its branches offer programs for youth of all ages.

     LapSit 
     Ages 6 months--3 years
     LapSit is a special program that incorporates singing, finger play, rhymes, and stories that
     will entertain and stimulate children’s language skills.  A parent or caregiver must stay with
     the child for the program.

 

     Storyhour    

     Ages 3--5                     
     An hour of stories, crafts, and fun for preschoolers age 3-5
 
 
     Bedtime Stories   
     Ages 8 and younger
     Relaxing bedtime stories and related activities for children ages 8 and younger.  Children may attend in their  
     pajamas.

     Kids Book Club

     Ages 6--8 
     Students will be provided with books that they will read and discuss with the group, as well as complete a craft  
     and have a snack based on the themes relevant to the particular book selected for the meeting.  You must be pre-     registered to attend.

 

     Young Readers Club

     Ages 9--12 
     Students will be provided with books that they will read and discuss with the group, as well as complete a craft 
     and have a snack based on the themes relevant to the particular book selected for the meeting.  You must be pre-     registered to attend.

     Homeschoolers

     Any homeschooled child
     Programs for homeschoolers are offered at the Accident and Oakland libraries.
