Story Tails  3:30 PM - 4:30 PM  Children Services
Branch: Accident Accident Library

This month we will have Maggie here with us for StoryTails: Children Reading to Dogs.  This program is designed to help children develop confidence in reading.  Each child reads to a dog for 15-20 minutes with the dog's handler sitting nearby to give reading assistance if necessary.  All dogs are certified by Therapy Dogs International. At the end of each reading session, each child will receive a bookmark with a picture of the dog that they read to.  This program provides a great opportunity for kids who need to work on reading skills and would like the opportunity to read to an animal.
