Do you need help navigating Ancestry.com, WHILBR, or Heritage Quest? Are looking for a long lost relative or would like to start researching your family tree, but do not know where to start? Grantsville Library's book club will meet the 1st Saturday of each month from September to June.  The book for December is Mrs. Mike by Bendedict & Nancy Freedman.

StoryTails  4:30 PM - 6:30 PM  Children Services

The Grantsville Library will hold StoryTails: Children Reading to Dogs on the first and third Mondays of each month from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

This program is designed to help children develop confidence in reading. Each child reads to a dog for 15 – 20 minutes, with the dog’s handler sitting nearby to give reading assistance if necessary. All dogs are certified by Therapy Dogs International. No registration is required, and parents are asked to remain at the library while their child is reading. The program will not take place on days when the Garrett County schools are closed or dismissed early due to inclement weather.

STEM Kids  2:00 PM - 3:30 PM  Children's/Teens
Branch: Oakland Meeting Room
STEM Kids is a program designed for children ages 6 to13 featuring a variety of activities that focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. STEM Kids programs are typically scheduled on days when school is released early for staff development. Pre-registration is required for this event, as spaces are limited.

STEM Kids programs will be cancelled and not rescheduled on days that Garrett County Public Schools are cancelled or delayed.

Teen Book Club  5:30 PM - 6:30 PM  Teen Services

The Teen Book Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month.  Newcomers are welcome
The book for Dec. is The Winter Horses by Philip Kerr. Participants will enjoy pizza and drink along with getting a free copy of the book. 

The Accident Teen Book Club is open to 12-18 year olds. We meet the first Weds. of each month (Sept-May) from 5:30-6:30PM (unless otherwise noted) at the Accident Library. We enjoy pizza and drinks at each discussion. Participants of the club receive a free copy of the book. You can choose to only register for the books you want to read.   Lego Club is designed for children ages 4-12 and features free building time with lots of building bricks. Children are encouraged to build a creation based on a new theme each month. Staff may photograph and/or display completed builds in the library. Lego Club typically meets on the fourth Friday of the month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and registration is required.
