Read Across America-Celebrating Dr. Seuss  4:30 PM - 5:30 PM  Children Services

Welcome to Read Across America at the library! Come join After-School students celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday with stories, fun activities, free giveaways, and much, much more. All ages welcome!

Read Across America is a national celebration that promotes reading to children.

For children ages 3-8, a Read Across America event sponsored by the Ruth Enlow Library and the Garrett County Judy Center. Stories, activities, crafts, and snacks based on Dr. Seuss books. StoryTails  4:30 PM - 6:30 PM  Children Services
Branch: Grantsville 

The Grantsville Library will hold StoryTails: Children Reading to Dogs on the first and third Mondays of each month from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

This program is designed to help children develop confidence in reading. Each child reads to a dog for 15 – 20 minutes, with the dog’s handler sitting nearby to give reading assistance if necessary. All dogs are certified by Therapy Dogs International. No registration is required, and parents are asked to remain at the library while their child is reading. The program will not take place on days when the Garrett County schools are closed or dismissed early due to inclement weather.

Welcome to Story Time @ the library! This program is geared for children ages 3-5. Come join us as we look, listen, sing, and play while learning through stories, crafts, and other fun activities.
LapSit  10:30 AM - 11:00 AM  Children Services
Branch: Oakland Meeting Room
A children's program designed especially for babies and toddlers (children birth to 36 months).  LapSit is a special program that incorporates singing, rhymes, stories, and other activities that will entertain and stimulate children’s language skills.  A parent or caregiver must stay with the child for the program.

The Accident Library will hold Children's Story Time Tuesdays Sept-May (with some exceptions) from 11-12 PM. Children's Story Time is open to children ages 3-5. We read a story, make a craft, and do activities. 

If school in Garrett County is cancelled due to weather, then Story Time will be cancelled. If there is a weather delay, Story Time will meet as scheduled.

Welcome to Lego Club @ the library! Lego Club meets on the 2nd Monday of each month from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A monthly building theme will be suggested or builders may choose to free-build. The library will provide the Lego's while the kids provide the imagination! Open to all ages.

Please note: If school is closed or has an early dismissal due to bad weather, there will be no program.

Lego Club  6:00 PM - 7:00 PM  Children Services
Branch: Grantsville 
Lego Club is designed for children ages 4 and up and features free building time with lots of building bricks. Children are encouraged to build a creation based on a new theme each month. Staff may photograph and/or display completed builds in the library.

Lego Club typically meets on the fourth Monday of the month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and registration is required.
