Songs and Stories Around the Campfire  4:30 PM - 5:30 PM  Children's/Teens
Branch: Oakland
Matthew Dodd will be presenting his program, Songs and Stories for Around a Campfire featuring campfire songs through the years-- one the pioneers would have sung, one Civil war soldiers would have sung, one from the cowboys, a Boy Scout song, a Girl Scout song, a church camp song, plus several other classic camp songs like "Found a Peanut" and a musical tribute to s'mores! The stories are short intros to each song that puts the song in context. The stage is very elaborate with a backdrop that looks like a night sky, a working campfire, and trees. This is a great program for families with children of all ages. Pre-registration is not required.

Songs & Stories from the Old West Part 2  4:00 PM - 5:00 PM  Children's/Teens
Branch: Accident Accident Library
Songs and Stories of
The Old West

Dressed in period clothing, around a "cowboy campfire at sunset", Matthew takes listeners back in time to the days of the pioneers, the cowboys, the lawmen, the gunfighters and the Indians who made the  Old West the most romantic and fascinating era of American history.  Using traditional Western songs, true stories and tall tales, plus many, many fascinating little-known facts, Matthew brings the Old West back to life once more.  You'll feel like you were really there!  Matthew sings and plays guitar, banjo, harmonica, mandolin and concertina.
