Adult Coloring Club  3:30 PM - 5:00 PM  Adult Services
Branch: Grantsville Grantsville

Enjoy an Afternoon of Adult Coloring at the Grantsville Library

The Adult Coloring Club meets every first Thursday of each month from 3:30 - 5:00 PM

“You are invited to attend this free program, designed as a quiet time for adults to enjoy a relaxing activity,” said a library spokesperson. “Coloring is not just for children these days. Adult coloring books have become quite popular. A story on cnn.com points out that ‘coloring has the therapeutic potential to reduce anxiety, create focus, or bring about more mindfulness. Like meditation, coloring allows the brain to switch off other thoughts and focus.’”

Participants do not need to bring supplies, as the library will supply all required items. To register for this event, contact Kim at 301-895-5298 ext 0141 or kim@relib.net.

Support for this event is provided by the Western Maryland Regional Library, the regional resource center for the public libraries of Allegany, Garrett, and Washington Counties.

Your participation in programs signifies your permission for us to use any photos that we take of you. Please speak to a librarian at the event if you would prefer that your photo not be taken.
Story Tails  3:30 PM - 4:30 PM  Children Services
Branch: Accident Accident
This month we will have Corey here with us for StoryTails: Children Reading to Dogs. This drop-in program is designed to help children develop confidence in reading.  Each child reads to a dog for about 15 minutes with the dog's handler sitting nearby to give reading assistance if necessary.  All dogs are certified by Therapy Dogs International. At the end of the reading session, each child will receive a bookmark with a picture of the dog that they read to.  This program provides a great opportunity for kids who need to work on reading skills and would like the opportunity to read to an animal.

For more information please contact Connie at (301)746-8792 or connie@relib.net
