Branch: Oakland Meeting Room
A children's program designed especially for babies and toddlers (children birth to 36 months).  LapSit is a special program that incorporates singing, rhymes, stories, and other activities that will entertain and stimulate children’s language skills.  A parent or caregiver must stay and participate with the child for the program.

Story Tails  3:30 PM - 4:30 PM  Children Services
Branch: Accident Accident Branch Library
                  StoryTails: Children Reading to Dogs. 
This drop-in program is designed to help children develop confidence in reading.  Each child reads to a dog for about 15 minutes with the dog's handler sitting nearby to give reading assistance if necessary.  All dogs are certified by Therapy Dogs International. At the end of the reading session, each child will receive a bookmark with a picture of the dog that they read to.  This program provides a great opportunity for kids who need to work on reading skills and would like the opportunity to read to an animal.

Welcome to Lego Club @ the library! Lego Club meets on the 2nd Monday of each month from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. a monthly building theme will be suggested or builders may choose to free-build. The library will provide the Lego and Duplo blocks while the kids provide the imagination! Open to all ages.

Please note: If school is closed or has an early dismissal due to bad weather, there will be no program.

Lego Club is designed for children ages 4 and up and features free building time with lots of building bricks. Children are encouraged to build a creation based on a new theme each month. Staff may photograph and/or display completed builds in the library.

Lego Club typically meets on the fourth Monday of the month from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. and registration is required.

Kids' Book Club  4:00 PM - 5:00 PM  Children Services

Kids Book Club is a book discussion group for children in grades 3 through 5.  Programs are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month from September through November and January through May.
 
You must be pre-registered to attend this program.
 
Students will be provided with books that they will read and discuss with the group.  They will also enjoy a craft or other fun activity and have a snack based on the themes relevant to the book selection for that month.

This month's book selection is I Survived the Sinking of the Titanic, 1912 and I Survived the Shark Attacks of 1916 by Lauren Tarshis
. Books are available at the circulation desk.

Our Homeschooler Series meets at Grantsville Library on the fourth Wednesday during the months of September, November, February and April. Our volunteer presenters offer a wide variety of enrichment programs for home school children and their families. 

Monarch Butterfly Migration
Join the staff of the Deep Creek Lake Discovery Center as they bring the Monarch Butterfly to life. Learn about the Monarch’s life cycle and participate in their tagging and release.
