The Oakland Library will host an open house to acquaint members of the nonprofit community and individual grant seekers with the resources available from the Foundation Center at the Washington County Free Library (WCFL) in Hagerstown, Maryland. The event will take place in the Oakland Library meeting room during the hours of noon to 8 p.m. This event is a walk-in program, where individuals can receive one-on-one demonstrations and access the two grants databases. These databases are available only in-house at WCFLís location in Hagerstown and cannot be accessed locally in Garrett County after August 6.
Harry Sachs, Supervisor of the Foundation Centerís Cooperating Collection at WCFL, will provide demonstrations of the two online databases and information concerning the collection, which also includes print materials. These resources are available to anyone in the general public who is searching for grant funding, whether it is for a religious organization, a community group, students, artists, or researchers.
