StoryTails Every Thursday at the Accident Library
Come and Read to a Furry Friend!

The Accident Library will hold StoryTails: Children Reading to Dogs every Thursday from July 3 – August 21 from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. This program is designed to help children develop confidence in reading. Each child reads to a dog for 15 – 20 minutes, with the dog’s handler sitting nearby to give reading assistance if necessary. All dogs are certified by Therapy Dogs International.

“Students need to keep practicing their reading skills over the summer,” notes Accident Branch Manager Susan Haydel, “and this program encourages a child to read in a relaxed and fun setting.”

Starting September 4, the Accident Library will return to the regular StoryTails schedule of the first Thursday of each month from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
