Kid Programs and Resources

The main library in Oakland and many of its branches offer programs for youth of all ages.  Please visit our calendar for a full listing of dates and times.

Programs

  • LapSit (Ages 6 months--3 years)
    LapSit is a special program that incorporates singing, finger play, rhymes, and stories that will entertain and stimulate children’s language skills.  A parent or caregiver must stay with the child for the program.
  • Storyhour (Ages 3--5)
    An hour of stories, crafts, and fun for preschoolers age 3-5
  • Kids Book Club (Ages 6--8)
    Students will be provided with books that they will read and discuss with the group, as well as complete a craft and have a snack based on the themes relevant to the particular book selected for the meeting.  You must be pre-registered to attend. 
  • Young Readers Club (Ages 9--12)
    Students will be provided with books that they will read and discuss with the group, as well as complete a craft and have a snack based on the themes relevant to the particular book selected for the meeting.  You must be pre-registered to attend.
  • Homeschoolers (Any homeschooled child)
    Programs for homeschoolers are offered at the Accident, Grantsville, and Oakland libraries.
