Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration

Children ages 3 to 8 years old can join us for crafts and activities to celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday. The Cat in the Hat will be here to read some Dr. Seuss classics. Free books will be provided by The Garrett County Education Association.

Homeschoolers Series: SuGO Robotics

Homeschool Program: Considering Caldecott

What is the Caldecott award and how does an illustrator win one? Which books might win this year? We will answer these questions, vote for our favorite books, create our own illustrator-inspired art and more in this hands-on book club designed especially for kids.

Exploration Sense-A-Tion

The Ruth Enlow Library and Garrett County Family Support Services are co-hosting a children’s sensory program on the second Saturday of each month at the Oakland Library, 6 N. Second St., Oakland from 1:00 - 2:00 pm.  This interactive program will include activities specifically designed for 3 – 12 year-olds who have Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, or other special needs that create sensory sensitivities. Children may participate in a craft, explore sensory activities, play games, and interact with other children. The program is free. All children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Children's Hour

Children's Hour is a program for preschoolers ages 3-5, held on Wednesdays from 10:30am to 11:30am, September through November and January through May. Children's Hour promotes creative expression, social skills, listening comprehension, and school readiness and includes STEM activities, stories, games, music and crafts.

Lap Sit

A children's program designed especially for babies and toddlers (children birth to 36 months).  LapSit is a special program that incorporates singing, rhymes, stories, and other activities that will entertain and stimulate children’s language skills.  A parent or caregiver must stay and participate with the child for the program.
