Library Assistant - Accident

Library Assistant – 36 hours per week with benefits at the Ruth Enlow Library in Accident.  Starting pay is $16.00/hr. 

Duties:

• Performs material check-in and check-out, places holds, shelves and retrieves material.
• Registers patrons in the library’s patron database and issues library cards.
• Handles financial transactions at service desk and financial reports.
• Answers reference questions when necessary.
• Assists in the planning and preparation of Library programs and events.
• Recommends Library materials and resources to patrons based on interests.
• Assists patrons with technological devices.
• Performs all duties of a Library Page as needed.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

• Ability to move throughout the library building
• Ability to carry oversize materials, to sit, stand, walk, bend, display manual dexterity, reach, twist upper body, push a book truck, and kneel.
• Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Education Level:  High school diploma or equivalent required.  Previous customer service experience preferred.
