Experts in local history and genealogy are available at the Oakland library to assist patrons doing research. Learn where to find historical maps, family histories, and archived issues of The Garrett County Republican on microfilm. Access online resources like the Garrett County Obituaries Database, the Western Maryland Historical Library, and HeritageQuest.
Expanded hours at the Oakland library are:
- Mondays 6-8 pm
- Wednesdays 5-7 pm
- Every first and third Saturday of the month from 11 am to 1 pm
- By appointment
